The BookSense XT, model T50XT, is a digital talking book player, voice output electronic book reader, and digital recorder designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This unit has more storage than BookSense (see separate entry), and it includes several additional features such as an FM radio with up to 6 channel presets and Bluetooth. It can play a wide range of audio formats and read a wide range of text formats. Support media file types include DAISY, NLS, RFB&D, BookShare, Audible.com, NISO, MP3, MP4, WMV, FLAC, ASF, OGG, WAV, WAX, M4A, WMA and Apple iTunes. DOCUMENT FILE TYPES SUPPORTED include TXT, HTML, XML, RTF, DOC, DOCX, BRF, BRL, and Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007. It has built-in stereo speakers and a stereo earphone jack, and it can be used with Bluetooth headphones. It also has a built-in microphone and external microphone jack (for stereo recording), and it can record from the FM radio. The user also can transfer data files from a computer via Bluetooth to the BookSense XT using FTP service. The BookSense XT has 4GB internal flash memory and an SD card slot that supports up to 32 GB. It has talking menus and tactile controls, and can be controlled through voice input.
