Mentor Public Library hosting talk with World War II veteran

Mar. 15—The public will have the opportunity to explore one of history's crucial moments with a first-hand witness as World War II veteran Bob Zonneville will discuss his experiences during the war at 6:30 p.m.April 1, at Mentor Public Library's Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.

Zonneville received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for his service, and he'll talk about fighting in the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest and the liberation of a concentration camp. Zonneville will be joined by the library's John Foster and local author/historian Tom Matowitz to discuss the history of the battle and the lives of other Mentor residents who fought in the war.
