Remember fallen veterans one wreath at a time

Citrus County Chronicle - 7/30/2017

Special to the Chronicle

Most know Veterans Day is in the fall and Memorial Day to honor the fallen is in the spring.

At many homes, there is an empty seat for one who is serving, or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. There is no better time to express appreciation than during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

Members of Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart Unit 776 have partnered with the national non-profit organization, Wreaths Across America to raise funds for wreaths to be placed at Bushnell National Cemetery.

The wreaths will be placed in Section 402, which has significant meaning to the unit, as that is the site for Aaron Weaver and Randy Billings.

A donation of $15 will help provide wreaths to honor the fallen heroes at Bushnell National Cemetery, unless otherwise requested.

If mailing a request, make check out to Wreaths Across America and be sure to mail it to the Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart, 8580 E. Orange Ave, Floral City, FL 34436 by Thursday, Nov. 10, 2017.

To donate online, go to www.wreaths acrossamerica.org and follow these directions:

* Scroll down to "How Can I Help"?

* Click on "Donate to a Local Group."

* Type in the cemetery to support (776 is FLNCBU).
